pandora’s box (broligarchs, AI, and the techno-authoritarian surveillance state), 2025

With atoms and orbits and constellations of data-points whirling around it, this picture forms a sky spectacle in which color blinds but control looms. Following Carole Cadwalladr’s work, “Broligarchs, AI, and the Techno-Authoritarian Surveillance State,” it reveals the rise of broligarchs and surveillance by AI as a sphere of both loveliness and unease. Pixelated lines appear like networks, atomic signs repeat the power of infrastructures, and explosive beams signal innovation and invasion.

It’s a portrait of digital authoritarianism in development: jovial on the surface but darkened by shutting orbits of those who would observe, account, and dominate above.
