“In Our Angelhood” poses the following questions: What are the consequences of the obsession with control over our image, internal narrative, and emotions? Could we ever truly know ourselves and/or each other?
Through appropriation and juxtaposition of fashion images and pharmaceutical brands, a critique of the interests that seek to further obfuscate every mental state, every complex, and every desire that we produce is expressed. Moreover, the mashup reveals two conflicting forces —those that seek to control our exterior and interior domains.
This body of work, including a video installation, will be shown at Puerta Amarilla, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from July 15 — 30, 2017
